The cruise off the Croatian coast was fantastic, with the islands producing a different port of call every night. Onboard the gulet was spacious, extremely comfortable, and captain and his crew were wonderful hosts. The cook, produced some of the most magnificent dishes out of the tiny kitchen where he worked, and they all contributed to us having a most enjoyable experience on the cruise.
Captain was flexible in his navigation, and subtly altered our itinerary to accommodate the changing weather conditions, and ensure our comfort at all times. There were similarities with our Turkish cruise of 2007, in as much as we had a large, spacious boat with very comfortable accommodations, a wonderful capable, and attentive crew, and a beautiful coastline to cruise. On both occasions the booking was flexible enough to allow us to provision the boats with our own alcohol and beverages, and the meals provided were first class. The Turkish coast offered a combination of cities and towns, or quiet, picturesque coves to berth for the night, which offered a wonderful combination of peaceful and busy. On the other hand, the Croatian coast offered a multitude of berthing options, depending on which way we navigated through the islands, and on the main, we stayed at ancient island towns.
If asked which one I enjoyed more; I enjoyed them both; but both were different, but fantastic. Each trip has been the trip of a lifetime, and i would recommend others go on either cruise……… they won’t be disappointed.Once again, many thanks to you, and all at Vela Dare, for your contribution to our wonderfull holidays…….first class.
